hello to all in sheffield.

i'm luke, and have been training parkour for 2-2.5 year now with 'teghead' ( if you dont know him, check youtube lol)

basically i'm fairly certain i'm going to be going to the hallam uni in september so i'v been checking out sites to see if theres much of a scene for parkour in sheffield....and luckily there does seem to be :D

so yeah, just thought i'd say hi, and that at some point i'm going to spend a long weekend up in sheffield to check out the uni and city etc and would very much like to meet with some local traceurs and have a good days training and a laugh. when i know when i'll be comming up i'll probably put together a thread so erm yeah....looking forward to it :p

peace.

I'll be around as much as ever. :)

Luke, I should be around to train on that Saturday and maybe some of the days before and after, so just let me know when you know precisely when you'll be out. At the moment I'm in Manchester on Sundays and Burnley Fridays but the Sundays might change between now and then.

No age restriction, but if you're younger than about 15 then you're going to have to be more careful about which movements you practise outside to avoiding damaging your body while it's growing.

The details for the training sessions are in the other sticky thread in this forum. Everyone's welcome.

The strength and agility that you develop by practising Parkour means that acrobatic movements become easier for you, but the purpose of Parkour is to get past obstacles rather than to show off so practitioners don't tend to use flips and somersaults that much. Individual techniques aren't as useful as strength, balance, coordination and general fitness.

hi my names Connor im 17 and ive been wanting to train for parkour for ages but never had the get up and go to do it on my own.
i was wondering if the times and places were still the same and whether it would be possible as an absolute beginner to just turn up and join in and hopefully get some coaching at the same time.
i consider myself pretty fit (no doubt most of the people there would put me to shame though :D ) and im very motivated when i want to be. if anyones got any info could you reply asap.
look forward to starting as soons as. cheers. :)

We've got a regular bunch of about half a dozen at the moment, plus a few others who occasionally stop by.

There's no real need for us to post messages all the time when there are regular sessions. Rest assured, there are people training in Sheffield.

See the other sticky thread for details of training times: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4477
